Voiceinator
Privacy
What you say stays on your Mac. Here's the longer version, which isn't much longer.
What stays on your Mac
Your voice, your dictations, your meeting transcripts and your word list. Speech turns into text on your Mac, using models that come inside the app. No audio or text is sent to us or anyone else.
Meeting audio is never saved to disk. It's turned into text as it comes in, then dropped. The transcript stays on your Mac until you delete it.
The one thing that goes online
Voiceinator checks for updates. It asks updates.boringlabs.online whether there's a newer version. That request carries no account, no ID and nothing you've said. The check is on by default, and you can turn it off in the menu.
No accounts, no tracking
There's no sign-up and nothing to pay. The app has no analytics, no crash reporting and no tracking.
This website doesn't run analytics either. Like any site, our host, Cloudflare, sees basic request data such as IP addresses so it can serve the page and the download.
If you connect an AI app
Voiceinator can let AI apps on your Mac read your dictations through a read-only connection. Nothing is shared unless you set that up. Once another app reads something, what happens next is up to that app.
Diagnostics
If you need help, the menu can copy a diagnostics summary to your clipboard. It holds counts and settings, never what you said. It goes nowhere unless you paste it somewhere.
Recording other people
Meeting mode shows when it's listening, but it doesn't ask the other people on the call. Getting their OK is on you. In California, everyone on a call has to agree to be recorded.
